8th Grade Warm Up in Spanish

Profe Olguin-Lucas
The 8th grade has been doing a multiple modalities warmup at the beginning of every class to help the students master the Spanish alfabeto. Zigzagging throughout the classroom while reciting the alfabeto and singing the jingle, "Hola mis amigos vamos aprender el alfabeto en español," has been a great way for the students to pactice word recognition, vocalization, memorization, pronunciation, and so much more.

"Let's do that again!" a student said joyfully, after she turned and did the final clap, clap, clap. "Oh yes, we will do it again mañana," the teacher said with a smile. And now that the students were all warmed up, they were magically transported to a foreign Spanish-speaking country. What a great way to start Spanish class! Click the headline to see video.
